3D map of the USA — any state, real terrain
The United States has some of the most dramatic relief on Earth: the Rockies, the Sierra Nevada, the Cascades, Alaska's ranges and Hawaii's volcanoes. Make a 3D map, topographic map, printable STL or game-engine heightmap of any part of it — free, in the browser.
Make a map of a state or the whole country
Open the app, choose United States in the Region panel, then drill down to a state and county — or just drag a box around any area. The elevation grid, hillshade and 3D relief are built from real DEM data (~30 m), not a decorative texture.
Shortcuts for popular states (each opens the app with that state already framed):

What you can export
- Printable STL at a fit-bed or fixed 1:5,000–1:50,000 scale, watertight and slicer-ready.
- OBJ/GLB for Blender, Unity, Unreal or CAD.
- 16-bit heightmap + surface texture for game engines.
- PNG or A3/A2 poster for a framed topographic map of a state or national park.
- MP4 orbit for a classroom or social clip.
Printing the American landscape
For a 180 mm print, pick a mountain range rather than a whole state: the Rockies in Colorado, Mount Rainier in Washington, the Sierra Nevada in California, or the Big Island of Hawaii. Use relief 8–12 % for mountain states; raise it to 15–20 % for the plains and Florida so the terrain is visible at all.

Questions
- How do I make a 3D map of the USA?
- Open 3D Terrain, pick United States in the Region panel, then choose a state, county or the whole country. The tool meshes the real elevation data for that area; you can export a PNG, a printable STL, an OBJ/GLB or a heightmap.
- Can I make a 3D map of a single US state?
- Yes — all 50 states are in the boundary dataset, with counties below them. For a state, choose it in the Region panel or draw a box around it; for a print, fit the 180 mm bed or pick 1:10,000–1:50,000.
- Which US landscapes print best?
- Mountain states with big relief — Colorado, Washington, California, Alaska, Hawaii — read best at small scale. Florida and the plains are subtle: use a higher relief percentage (15–20 %) and contours to show the terrain.
- Where can I buy a 3D map of the USA?
- You can print one yourself from a free STL exported here, or order a physical raised-relief map. This site is free and does not sell prints.
- Can I get a heightmap of the USA for Unity or Unreal?
- Yes — export a 16-bit grayscale heightmap PNG plus a surface texture for any state or box you select. Whole-country heightmaps come out coarse (~30 m per pixel); zoom into a state for detail.
